I bought this to protect my new eTrex Vista HCx, and I will probably not be using it. I think I threw away the package otherwise I would return it. This case supposedly fits any eTrex, but I do not think it fits the Vista HCx very well. The "joystick" that you use to control the majority of navigation through the menus gets bumped by the case all the time, and the case really is not cut right because if you fully insert the unit into the case, the joystick is mostly covered up by the case.


Buy at your own risk, it appears there are much better cases out there. I am going to be buying a ZAGG invisible shield screen protector and probably a Foarm case.

One end of case was in shreds, the rest of the case had deep gouges and tears. Garmin stayed in tact, works, with only 2 small scrapes on the housing. This case seems to be very well made. I've been using since last Xmas and it still looks as good as the day I got it. The stitching is holding up well without any fraying or ends popping out anywhere. Its only a little bigger than my Nuvi so there's not much room for extras but that is a plus if you want to protect your Nuvi without adding much bulk. I can still use all my Nuvi's features while it is protected in this case.

This is not necessarily a bad GPS case, but it's too soft for what I wanted. After not really seeing that this or pretty much any other GPS case could really provide hard shell case protection for my new Garmin 285W, I wanted to post a review here to mention that I've found it will fit nicely in an Intec Dura-Case for a Nintendo DS Lite ( DS Lite Dura-Case ), which is tough enough to sit on (maybe even stand on) without being crushed. My old GPS got a cracked screen during a flight, but I know that won't happen again with my new Garmin in the DS case. The width leaves about 1/4" open on each side and the 2.9" height is just right; for depth, I put a thin (1/4") piece of foam in the bottom to give it a tight fit, but it's probably OK just to use it as is.

This case was free of defects and performed its function adequately. I think that it is a little large for a GPS storage and transport case. I prefer a slimmer case, which I feel protects the unit just as well with much better portability.





This case has a pocket with a strap inside that can keep the GPS from bouncing around in the case, but if that pocket isn't used the GPS can rattle around in the large compartment. In addition, the pocket seems as if it should be used for other accessories or incidentals.





Overall, I just didn't care for the case in comparison to the smaller slip-in case that I subsequently purchased.

There is an elastic mesh divider in the middle that keeps the Garmin secure and there is room on the other side for extra screen protectors, cleaning cloth, memory card, or other small item. I was somewhat skeptical when I first looked at this because a lot of people said that when they put their nav unit in it would switch it on. I have the Garmin 765T which has an on/off switch on top. I quickly realized that actually if you're smart enough to slide this in a certain way then there is no way the garmin will turn on. Anyways, it is somewhat cheaply made but then again I'm not showing it off to anyone so I don't know why that matters. I use it so when I take it off the dash and put it in the glove compartment or trunk I don't want the screen to get scratched. For that it works perfect. It is snug at first but loosens up quickly but not enough to wear it's too loose. It still works great

First off, I love Canon Powershots because of the image quality and design and function. But secondly, I love Canons because they make the best underwater housings for most of their models. They are good to 130ft, which is better than most. And, really, most recreational divers would have little reason to dive beyond 130ft. I have taken it to as deep as 91ft. I shot some amazing video in addition to still shots, and everything on this housing works the way it should. The flash diffuser (the translucent piece that attached around the lens port) is very helpful in improving the quality of your flash shots by softening the light. For any recreational use, especially if you are a diver, this is a must have. And it is way cheaper than getting an Ikelite housing, for example. Unless you must have external strobes. I'll also use the housing when I am in adverse conditions, just to protect it sometimes. It's a bit bulky to bring with you on trips, but any housing would be. This one is pretty compact if you put it on that scale.

Canon offers this in their line of OEM U/W Camera housings, and it was way cheaper than any of the aftermarket units... by $600 and more. Some deride it as having clunky looks and peculiar rainbow colors, but for this price, I'm not complaining. (It fit into the same BC pouch I formerly stuffed my Oly 5050 in) The controls were easy to operate, the latch mechanism is secure. I especially liked the diffuser panel for the on-board flash. I was shooting all macro and with the airlines the way they are, I wanted something that didn't "need" external flash. This worked really well. You're prolly going to want the slip on adapter for the front of the lens port to hold macro add-on lenses. It did need the weight system as it was positively buoyant, but I just taped a few automotive wheel weights to an "L" bracket that I had left over from my 35mm SLR days. There is a lot of room on either side of the lens to stash some moisture absorbent canisters (from old pill bottles) if the water is chilly and you're shooting fast with flash- a common problem in any housing- but this one has the extra internal room to secure the absorbents in place. Throw a piece of clear packing tape across the rear view screen area to shield it from scratches-0 something you would do to any housing. Looks like the same guys that made the Olympus housings had a hand in this. Simple and inexpensive- does the job.

wanted to dispel a myth that's been perpetuated in the prior reviews.



while it's true you cannot rotate the control wheel at the back of the G10, you can simulate left/right scrolls by holding down the "S" button (AKA custom control, AKA print button) and pressing left/right on the scroll wheel. this nugget of information is hidden on pg 14 of the manual. i believe this basically puts all of the camera's functionality at your disposal while it's sealed in the case.



some quick notes after a whitewater rafting trip with this:



1) it's relatively large and bulky. on par with a rebel body and kit lens.

2) the back will get scratched up fast.

3) water droplets on the front will show up quite dramatically in your images. pack a microfiber cloth or something to wipe the front down with.

4) i was able to switch pretty quickly between shooting modes to adapt to what was happening. turning the dials backwards was the biggest mental challenge for me.

5) removing the G10 straps up front can be a pain : i now use the wrist strap that came with the housing as my main strap for the G10. it goes on and off much more easily, and i find it more useful than the stock neck strap.



overall great experience and i'm looking forward to using it skiing and on rainy hikes.

This little camera case fits my PowerShot SD780 Elph like a glove. I would call the color Deep Metallic Rose rather than "red" and it is a bit lighter in color than my red camera.



There is NO room for anything else but the camera - I knew that when I bought it so to me this is not a negative - if you want to store an extra battery or even a photo card you will probably not be happy with the case. If you want to protect the camera (and look going doing it!) this is a great case.



The case has a magnetic flap, a hole in the top for the camera strap, and a leather belt loop. It is a snug fit over the camera.
