This little camera case fits my PowerShot SD780 Elph like a glove. I would call the color Deep Metallic Rose rather than "red" and it is a bit lighter in color than my red camera.



There is NO room for anything else but the camera - I knew that when I bought it so to me this is not a negative - if you want to store an extra battery or even a photo card you will probably not be happy with the case. If you want to protect the camera (and look going doing it!) this is a great case.



The case has a magnetic flap, a hole in the top for the camera strap, and a leather belt loop. It is a snug fit over the camera.

The Canon SD780IS is a small camera & this case fits perfectly. The case is a more metallic lite red than the picture shows. It has the added bonus of a belt loop on the back. I put the wrist strap for the camera to the side rather than thru the hole at the top of the case, and you can easily pull the camera out.

This is a fine case for the Canon SX1 IS. I use it mostly for storage and not for transport. It will not accommodate the camera with the lens hood on. If you need a case to keep your camera from getting dusty this will work just fine. I would not rely on it as the sole protection bouncing around in a pack. Upon reflection my needs would have probably been better served by a small Pelican case that would carry the camera with the lens hood on, a couple of filters, a spare set of batteries, and a card or two.

A very nice case, soft, but well designed to protect the camera. Potential buyers should be aware that there is no provision for a separate strap for carrying the case. Instead the camera strap projects through slots at the edges of the cover and is used to carry both camera and case. This is neater than wrestling with two straps, but does pose the problem of what to do with the case while one is using the camera. This may be alleviated by the case's having a belt strap and also a short snap-strap that will allow the case to be loosely fastened to the camera strap or anything else with a diameter of 3/4 inch or less.

For those who would like more room I have the Mountainsmith Quickfire small camera bag for my Canon SX10IS. There is a separate zippered compartment for batteries and memory cards. It is a little bulky and I think it was originally designed for an entry level SLR with a 200mm lense. I have been happy with my choice and I see it is available through Amazon though I purchased mine through an overstock merchandiser on line.

It fits the Canon SX1 IS very snugly, but dang if there's nowhere to put it when you take the camera out to shoot some pics. You see, the problem is, there's not strap to hold the case to your body. Canon makes you use the camera's strap. So when you remove the camera from the case, the case either falls to the ground, or you have to set it somewhere before you can snap a picture. Sure, there's this little cheesy loop kind of thing that's supposed to attach the case to the camera, but it's a poorly thought out solution. It's clumsy and the case gets in the way. I can't believe a huge company like Canon came up with this thing. I returned it. Not worth my $30.

This is the best way for me to carry my Canon SD 790is on my belt. It protects the camera and keeps it separate from the rest of the junk in my pocket. I like that I can quickly open the catch, retrieve the camera, turn it on and get the shot -- all with one hand. The magnetic catch is secure and the camera has never fallen out. You need to carry your spare battery and chip some other way. But if you have a reasonable size chip (like 16 gig) and a fully charged battery its hard to imagine needing to change during a day of shooting.

I bought this case for my wife's camera and it looks very elegant. The leather is not very bright but it is not dull, just perfect. I comes with a strap that matches the case and it has the Canon brand on it. You can choose to use it or not. A WARNING, my wife dropped the case over a concrete floor and the case protected the camera very well, however the case was scratched badly so be careful with it.

The Leather Case its great, strong, steady leather. It comes with its own hand strap which its also leather. No bottom openings in which it will keep the camera safer from spilling liquids in the book pack and sand. The older versions had these openings.

Reading the other review, I was skeptical if it would fit my new SD940 IS - which I really love for it's size and handling. Anyway: I can confirm that PSC-1050 fits SD940 IS like a glove. Yes, the handle-string needs to be pulled all through - on the way in&out - which is normal and no big deal from my point of view. Then the flap closes perfectly = nice and snug. It's quality leather will protect the camera perfectly w/o making it bulky. A bonus would have been a small pocket in the front or whereever for an extra battery. With storage cards in the range of 16 GB which I usually can't "fill" in a month of vacation photos, there is no need to constantly carry another card arround. But, the battery is a different issue. Mine are usually drained after a couple days - and I really like to drain them fully to keep their life up. Therefore, yes, I have been running out of "battery power" from one day to the next and therefore a small clever pocket for a spare battery would be A BIG PLUS on every camera case. ... other than that PSC-1050 is perfect also for Canon SD 940.

Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, this case accommodates my SD940IS very well. It is initially a little tight (just as all leather cases) but as long as you put the cord through the hole in the case, it works beautifully. If you don't thread through the top hole, then it will not close securely. Perhaps this could be easily solved by getting a different camera cord that didn't have a plastic component?



SD780 measurements: 87 x 56 x 18 mm (3.4 x 2.2 x 0.7 in)

SD940 measurements: 89 x 55 x 20 mm (3.5 x 2.2 x 0.8 in)



Yes, the SD940 is ever-so-slightly longer (2mm) and thicker (2mm) than the SD780 but I can verify that the case does in fact fit my SD940. Extremely high quality case.

I bought this case since it was recommended to fit the new sd940is by both amazon and [...] (canon's site). While you can shove the camera in tightly (a little bit too tightly), good luck getting the flap to securely shut. To make matters worse, it's a magnetic snap, so unless the flap makes direct contact, which it can't, it doesn't hold. I prefer velcroe flaps (like other generic cases have). Now I'm stuck with a case two days before my vacation that doesn't work. *sigh*

The case fits perfectly the Canon camera SD780 IS. I saw somebody saying that it is somehow difficult to take the camera out from the case and here it is what I do. I do not pull the camera wrist strap through the hole in the case when I know that I will use the camera. I use the wrist strap to pull the camera out of the case. It comes nice, quickly and easy. I wear the case on my belt most of the time.

The product I bought is excellent. However, I did have a bad experience with this purchase. I used my debit card to pay for the item. The next morning the Card Company security called and informed me that unusual activity had taken place. Someone had made unauthorized purchases using my card number. It took a while to get the situation corrected. I had not used the card for several weeks prior to the Amazon.com purchase. I strongly suspect that my card number was stolen during or after this transaction. I had to cancel my debit card and get another with a different number.

Case for my wife's Canon SD1100 fit's the camera perfectly. It looks good and protects the camera yet keeps it readily accessible. The only negative aspect is that the case is a little too bulky. Would be better for carrying in a purse if case was made of slightly thinner material and a bit smaller - but then it might not provide as much protection.

This is not a very good case. I bought if for the SD1200. It's the right width, but it's about 1/4" taller than the camera so extra wasted space makes it bulkier than it should be (and it's already bulky). But that's not the real problem. The real problem is that the hole is too small to be used with Canon's shoulder-strap. You can cram it through there sure (with a lot of work), but that defeats the whole idea of making it easy to use. Also, the magnet on the closure seems very weak (why not use a strong magnet?!). I can't imagine that would hold up for any length of time.



I waited a little too late to return mine, but I'll just get rid of it. I'm using an older case (the one I had with an SD800) -- it doesn't really fit right (too wide) but at least I can get the shoulder strap in and out easily. And the Velcro is very secure (if noisier than a magnet).



So I would not recommend this case for an SD1200. Other reviewers have said it doesn't work for an SD1100. Not really sure what it DOES work for. But even if it fit, the magnet and hole-size are real quality problems. Don't buy it.
