The remote works just fine, range as expected. Only downside to choosing this remote over the canon branded one is that the canon one is a lot smaller and will attach to your neck strap. I gave it 5 stars because it is 1/3-1/2 the price of the canon remote.

This wireless remote works great. Some people complain about the distance, but the technical details clearly states up to 16ft working distance, which is plenty for my needs. I love this wireless remote and the fact that I am finally in some of my own pictures. I look forward to doing self-portraits. Definitely worth getting.

I used it while I was camping. I didn't have any problem to set it up but i was surprised about how short the distance between the remote and the camera must be to be able to control the shot. And you must be just in front so It took me some acrobatics movement to be able to take some shoots during our fire-camp. Other than that it's a great little remote, very light but just not what i need.
